Lyngholt Camping: The South Route

Pissebækken and Vang granite quarry

Discover the many idyllic sceneries and natural phenomena of the Southern Route

Go to Plads 83/84, where the red route starts. Follow the red route down to Finnedalsvej. Here the route continues to the left along the gravel road to the parking lot, where you follow the yellow markings to the coast.

As you follow the coast, you will at some point cross Pissebækken, a stream from Finnedalen that ends in a waterfall on the coastal cliff. From here, the route continues down to the idyllic fishing village of Vang, first mentioned in history in the 1700s. Vang harbor served as a shipping port for the quarry from 1902-67. Until the quarry closed in 2008, the granite was shipped directly from Vang Granite Quarry's own harbor, which is definitely worth a visit. Among other things, granite blocks for the Great Belt Bridge and other large buildings around the country have been delivered from Vang Granite Quarry.

Notice the many old farms in Vang, many of which are over 200 years old.

The route continues to the listed Vang Watermill, which was built in 1811 and is the only surviving watermill on Bornholm, until you end the tour at the impressive Ringbakkebruddet.
