Discover the rocky landscape of Raven Valley

Lyngholt Camping: Ravnedalen

Discover Raven Valley's impressive rocky landscape

The tour in Ravnedalen starts at Lyngholt Camping's parking lot. Here you walk approx. 400 m to the left along the country road until you reach the parking lot where the tour in Ravnedalen starts. Follow the cycle path until you reach a ferry crossing (crosswise iron lamellas), where you turn right and follow the yellow markings.

The nature is completely different in Ravnedalen - from the almost bare and dry cliff sides to the dark cave of the forest. Here you can experience wild eagle ferns (which can grow up to 2 meters tall) and fragrant honeysuckle that winds its way up the trees.

The route takes you through Raven Valley's old granite quarry, where you can still see traces of chisel marks, blast holes and drill marks. Cross the cycle path and continue on to the other side of the valley.

Here you can see some old stone balls, which are traces of quarrying in the 1800s. A little further along the path is the old, yellow-washed smithy, where the blacksmith maintained the stonemasons' tools.

The walk now goes back to the parking lot and Lyngholt Camping - or you can choose to follow the small path to the right of the yellow house and follow the country road to the right to the Blåholt property, where you can see the rock carvings. At the rock carvings, go out through a gate and then left on a gravel road that leads you to Slotslyngen.

You will then come to the cycle path. Turn left and continue until another road turns right. Follow this road for a short while until a small path on the left leads you to Ankermyr. Take a rest and enjoy the lake, the white water lilies on summer days or perhaps a deer or heron.

The path continues along the bog and ends on the forest road, where you turn left until you come back to the parking lot and Lyngholt Camping.
